Over the years, Vietnam has quietly been part of Caladan’s story. We’ve had talented engineers and analysts contributing remotely from Ho Chi Minh since our early days. But what started as a few distributed team members has evolved into something much bigger—a signal we could no longer ignore.
Today, we’re excited to share that Caladan is opening an office in Vietnam.
This is a recognition of something we’ve felt building for some time now: Vietnam is emerging as a major force in technical talent, and it’s happening fast.
The Speed of Growth, the Depth of Talent
There’s a kind of momentum in Vietnam that’s hard to explain unless you’ve seen it up close. It’s not just the volume of engineers or the sheer number of startups sprouting up—it’s the rate at which people level up. There’s a sense of velocity. People are hungry to learn, quick to ship, and unusually comfortable with ambiguity—an underrated trait in crypto.
We’ve seen our Vietnam-based engineers jump from contributor to lead in months, not years. We’ve seen interns build production-level code that scales. We’ve seen raw technical talent combine with a entrepreneurial mindset that fits naturally with the way we build at Caladan.
Why This Matters for Caladan
Crypto doesn’t operate on 9-to-5, and neither does our team. We run global liquidity and infrastructure 24/7. Having deep technical strength in Vietnam gives us not just timezone coverage, but cognitive diversity—different ways of thinking about engineering challenges, market structure, and systems design.
Vietnam is also perfectly positioned to become a critical part of the crypto infrastructure layer in Asia. It’s got the connectivity, the universities, and increasingly, the ambition.
We want to be part of that story—not just as an observer, but as a builder.
Looking Ahead
Our Vietnam expansion will start with a focus on engineering and infrastructure, but we expect it to grow organically. Whether that’s research, quant development, or market operations—we’re letting talent lead the way.
If you’re based in Vietnam and passionate about crypto, trading systems, or distributed infrastructure, come talk to us. We’re hiring—and more importantly, we’re listening.
Vietnam has already surprised us. Now we’re betting it will keep doing so.
